THE ROLE

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handling and responding to all correspondence including phone calls, emails, and letters.
  • Scheduling appointments and organising diary entries.
  • Setting reminders for meetings, appointments, and other important tasks.
  • Making travel and hotel arrangements.
  • Planning conferences, workshops, seminars, and other events.
  • Taking notes at meetings, preparing the minutes, and subsequently distributing to all participants.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a personal assistant.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft packages.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining and calibrating measuring equipment to various testing standards.
  • Questioning the nature of defects while providing future solutions.
  • Inspecting raw materials to ensure consistency and integrity.
  • Filling out and maintaining proper paperwork.
  • Complying with any and all standards, internal policies, and legal regulations that apply to the finished product. 
  • Provide advice and support to the business on all aspects of quality, including the production and delivery of its quality planning and control documentation and ensuring appropriate quality levels are allocated to control of work activities.
  • Ensure any supply chain quality non-conformances (NCRs) are managed and closed out in a timely manner and supporting the implementation of necessary correction and corrective actions to remedy any non-conformity found and to avoid recurrence.
  • Monitor the environmental conditions where calibration activity is being performed. 
  • Monitor technician quality levels by means of quality verification inspections (QVI’s).
  • Perform over the shoulder (OTS) evaluations to verify processes and procedures are valid and current. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a quality control inspector, preferably in automotive, defence, or a highly regulated industry.
  • Willingness to always follow safety guidelines.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Good understanding of basic maths.

  • Clean and maintains spray equipment, protective clothing, and the spraying booth.
  • Ensure adherence to correct engineering practices, observe safety precautions and that as far as is reasonably practicable ensure that no one else is exposed to any unnecessary or uncontrolled risk.

  • Proven experience as a vehicle painter.
  • Good eye for colour.

  • Qualification in military surface finishing (desirable).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow standard operating procedures in the safe set up and operation of welding plant.
  • Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project.
  • Measuring and cutting materials to specifications.
  • Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together.
  • Maintain welding plant functionality.
  • Carry out daily machine checks, ensuring that any fault is reported immediately.
  • Checking finished work to ensure that it falls withing the tolerances marked on the blueprints.
  • Supervising the other welders and making sure that their work is to a high standard.
  • Welding using different welding processes i.e., Manual Metal Arc, Meta Inert Gas, Automatic & Semi-Automatic Machine Welding (Submerged – Arc & KAT) & Resistance Welding (Stud Welding).
  • Welding butts and fillets to a high standard.
  • Work with fitters and other engineers to meet project targets and deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Working knowledge of regulations and approved codes of practice.
  • NVQ/City & Guilds or similar vocational qualification in welding & fabrication or relevant engineering subject (Time served will also be considered depending on relevant experience).
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment, and electrical and manual tools.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Good understanding of basic maths.
  • Deftness and a high level of physical fitness.
  • A highly motivated and confident individual with a strong desire to succeed.
